The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction 2025 (GP2025) will be hosted by UNDRR on 2nd – 6th, June in Geneva, Switzerland. The U-INSPIRE Alliance and Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) were accepted to organize an innovation lab during this event. The topic is “Actionable Science for Disaster Risk Reduction: Transformative, Actionable scientific solutions through Youth, Young Scientists, and Young Professionals' contribution for DRR.”
We invite youth and young professionals (YYP) from diverse stakeholders worldwide to share their innovations to address the pressing challenges of disaster risk reduction (DRR). We hope that through this lab, the global YYP can be seen at a global stage and most importantly, contribute to the global dialogue, shape the future of DRR, and drive meaningful change in preventing disasters exposure, reducing vulnerability and building resilient communities.
We seek contributions aligned with:
Technology demonstrations, youth-led projects, research papers, case studies, policy briefs, and more, all focused on innovative and actionable solutions for disaster risk reduction (DRR).
Submission requirements:
Submissions should include a 3–5-minute video in English with a transcription describing the innovation, its relevance to DRR, and its expected impact in your community.
Why should you participate?
Contributors will gain global visibility, networking opportunities, the chance to influence global DRR strategies, and recognition through inclusion at the GP2025. The contributors will also have priorities to get other opportunities provided by U-INSPIRE Alliance and IRDR.
